WOOD IN ARCHITECTURE
Wood is one of the oldest, basic and traditional materials experienced throughout the ages in the world architecture. No matter what ambitious structures do the architects put their signature on in terms of design or technique, wood has always been an indispensable material.
Wood, which is mostly used as facade and roof material in residential architecture due to the technical opportunities stemming from its structure, is also the preferred material of large openings, different geometric shapes thanks to today’s innovative production techniques.
In terms of adaptation to environment and climate, sustainability, reusability as today’s main problems, wood stands out in the search for solutions and is the first choice of many architects. In this sense, it is expressed that wood is replacing concrete.
